Episode #61 of The Fully Engaged Life. In this episode, Robert offers an example of what real physical education is meant to be.  Here he presents a practical application for the beginning stages of mindfulness. The first stage of mindfulness practice revolves around getting out of your head and connecting to the breath and the physical body. This is what should be taught as physical education for our children. In addition, it's never too late for us as adults to begin to educate ourselves about our physical nature as well. The result could be a dramatic awareness for our physicality that could also promote an improved state of well-being. Robert lays out a three step outline of an education model for real physical education. Playing competitive sports games is not an education, nor does it bring value into the real world as far as beneficial physical development. Imagine the benefits we could receive if, as physical beings in the physical world, we actually learned how to master our physical body, in place of fostering the ego through competition.
